      Mission
  — Theodosian archaeology in the Douro river basin —

The compared analysis of features such as the architectural patterns used in the construction, renovation and decoration of the Hispano-Roman towns and the characterisation of the material and iconographic remains linked to specific circles of Late Antiquity can provide interesting data about the trends in how the dominus was represented in the reception areas.
This project analyses the archaeological relics of the area between the central part of the Douro river and the Sistema Central mountain range in the second half of the 4th century AD, focusing especially on the various Palatine structures recorded in these types of developments during the period of the Roman emperor Theodosius the Great (347-395 AD).
