  — Armament and iconography in Antiquity and the High Middle Ages —

Weapons are one of the categories which provide more information about the ancient and medieval worlds and can be understood as a compendium of the values and motives of the society which created or used them. They reflect the technology of each moment and sometimes they provide a rich symbology which shows the diverse social and religious features. They were also represented with commemorative, advertising or identification functions using different forms such as sculptures, paintings, toreutics and numismatics, so this project studies them from a cross-sectional standpoint which includes specialist disciplines in different areas of knowledge.
